LargePrint Puzzle Studio roadmap #
Last updated: 2026-11-04. This page covers what the app does today, what we are building next and in what order, what waits on a condition, and what we have decided not to build. Buy the app for what it does today. This roadmap is our plan, not part of any purchase, and its order and timing can change. When the plan changes, we update this page and the date above.
What does LargePrint Puzzle Studio do today? #
LargePrint Puzzle Studio builds very-large-print nostalgia word search books for Amazon KDP paperbacks and printable Etsy packs. Grid letters are 28 pt on 8.5 x 11 in and 26 pt on 6 x 9 in. A solver checks every puzzle before export, and the interior is laid out to KDP's print rules, so a correct export shows no errors in KDP's Print Previewer.
In the app now #
- 90 ready lists from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s with a period fact under every puzzle, five holiday packs, and the 1940s and 1980s on Pro.
- Your own eight-word lists, and optional AI theme suggestions on Pro.
- Talk About It conversation pages, facing memory pages, and welcome, gift, contents and thank-you pages.
- Three Pro word search formats: Grandparent and Grandkid twin pages, hidden-message puzzles, and shaped puzzles (8.5 x 11 only, 23 pt letters in a 12x12 shape).
- A full KDP cover wrap whose spine width always matches the page count.
- Personalized family books, one at a time or up to 100 from a CSV, and Letter and A4 Etsy printable packs with five mockups.
- White-label output, five seats and 30 done-for-you presets on Commercial and Agency.
- Creator Club: a new decade or holiday pack every month, starting with the 1990s in December 2026.
What is coming next? #
Three things are next: book styles you can choose and adjust, a file bundle for Canva, Affinity Publisher, InDesign and Book Bolt, and three new large-print puzzle types (Sudoku, Number Search and Word Scramble). Book styles come first, because the file bundle uses them. Work starts after the 2026-11-17 launch, and each part ships on its own once a book made with it passes KDP's Print Previewer.
Book styles: make each book look like yours #
Pick a style preset (Classic, Nostalgia Retro, Holiday or Clean Modern), then adjust it:
- grid letter size: Large (24 pt) or Extra Large (26 to 28 pt, today's size and the default);
- a page header with the section name, and a difficulty label in books with several levels;
- a page frame: none, a thin rule, or black corner ornaments in classic, holiday and retro sets;
- found words marked with a bold circle or a bold strike-through, never a pale highlight;
- answer keys at four a page, or two a page with larger letters, each labelled with its puzzle number and page;
- puzzle titles in capitals or title case, centred or left-aligned;
- your own wording for the fixed lines, such as "Find it together" and "Write your memory here".
Every combination is checked to fit the print area and to keep reading text at 18 pt or larger, so no style can break a book. The export panel will also warn you when a list price below $9.99 would drop your KDP royalty from 60% to 50%.
A file bundle for the design tools you already use #
Next to the KDP PDF, you will be able to download one zip per book and lay the pages out again in Canva, Affinity Publisher, InDesign or Book Bolt:
- every puzzle and every answer key as its own PDF, SVG (letters turned into outlines) and transparent 300 dpi PNG, at true print size, so placing a file at 100% keeps the large-print size;
- a PNG of every interior page, for Canva and Book Bolt;
manifest.csvandmanifest.jsonfor Data Merge in InDesign and Affinity Publisher;- three to five high-resolution page images for Amazon A+ Content;
- the Atkinson Hyperlegible font with its open font licence, for anyone who wants to edit the text;
- a KDP details sheet: the title and subtitle as they appear on the cover, page count, trim, paper, spine width, how to answer the large-print question, and the lowest list price that earns the 60% royalty;
- a one-page readme for each tool.
No other KDP puzzle tool we know of exports both the finished book and the separate puzzle files with Data Merge manifests and a guaranteed large-print size.
New large-print puzzle types: the first wave #
- Large-print Sudoku: 9x9, one puzzle a page, numbers 28 pt or larger on 8.5 x 11, exactly one solution for every puzzle, and Easy, Medium and Hard sections graded by the solving techniques each puzzle needs.
- Number Search: the word search your readers already know, with strings of numbers instead of words.
- Word Scramble: 10 to 12 nostalgia or holiday words a page, with writing lines and a theme hint. No scramble may spell another real word.
New types follow the same rules as the word search: each puzzle comes from a seed, so the same book can be made again, a separate solver checks it before export, and answer keys stay at 16 pt or larger.
What comes after that? #
The second wave adds Word Fill-In puzzles (criss-cross grids made from the nostalgia lists, with no clues to write), Cryptograms made from public-domain quotes with their sources named, and mixed Brain Games books. A Brain Games book puts several puzzle types in one themed book, with a section per type, one contents page and the answers grouped by section at the back.
Will I be able to sell beyond Amazon KDP and Etsy downloads? #
Yes, that is the next step after the puzzle types. Etsy printable packs will gain the new styles and puzzle types and a listing kit. Beyond that, you will be able to sell printed books from your own store with Lulu printing and shipping each order, and send a book to IngramSpark for bookstore and library distribution. Each connection ships only after a book made in the app has been test-printed through that partner.
Etsy #
- Printable packs get the book styles and every new puzzle type, not only word search.
- A listing kit: a title, all 13 tags and a description draft that lists exactly what is in the pack, next to the five mockups you already get.
- Printed personalized family books for Etsy custom orders: you take the order, and Lulu prints the book and ships it straight to your customer.
Your own store, printed by Lulu #
- Export a book in the format Lulu prints, with the cover sized to Lulu's spine width.
- Sell it on your own Shopify, WooCommerce or Wix store through Lulu's store connections. Lulu prints and ships each order, and you keep the profit above Lulu's print and shipping cost.
- Personalized books ordered on your store go to Lulu one by one, each with the buyer's name and dedication.
- Today you can already put your books on a website of your own with an author theme on ZeroHost CMS (how it works).
Bookstores and libraries, through IngramSpark #
- Export the interior and cover as the PDF/X files IngramSpark asks for, with the cover sized to IngramSpark's spine width for your page count and paper.
- A checklist for the IngramSpark title setup, written the same way as the KDP upload guide.
A free ISBN from KDP can only be used on KDP, so a book printed through Lulu or IngramSpark needs its own ISBN.
Which plan will include the new features? #
Book styles come to everyone who owns the builder, with nothing extra to buy. The file bundle and the new puzzle types (Sudoku, Number Search, Word Scramble, Fill-In and Cryptogram) will be sold as a new add-on. Mixed Brain Games books will come to Creator Club. The add-on's name and price, and whether there is an offer for people who already own Pro, are not set yet. We will email buyers before it goes on sale.
What else is on the list? #
Yes. Pocket-size and hardcover books, groundwood paper, a Canva Bulk Create sheet, easy crosswords, mazes, missing-vowel puzzles, no repeated puzzles across your books, and ready-made A+ Content mockups are all on the list. Each one waits for a condition, shown below. New decade and holiday packs keep arriving every month in Creator Club.
What each idea waits for #
| Idea | What has to happen first |
|---|---|
| 5 x 8 in pocket books | Agreeing that a 16 pt floor is right for a pocket size |
| Hardcover cover wraps | Confirming which hardcover trim KDP offers for this size |
| Groundwood paper | Confirming KDP offers it for 8.5 x 11 in and how it changes the spine |
| A Canva Bulk Create sheet with images | Testing how Canva imports an image placed in a sheet cell |
| Easy crosswords | A human editing process that checks every clue |
| Mazes, missing-vowel puzzles and more grandparent and grandkid twin books | The second wave of puzzle types |
| No repeated puzzles across all the books in one account | Several puzzle types in the app |
| Ready-made A+ Content and listing mockups | The file bundle |
What will stay the same after every update? #
These rules hold for every release, whatever style or puzzle type you choose:
- Reading text never goes below 18 pt, and answer keys never below 16 pt.
- Interior pages print in pure black ink, with no grey tints.
- A solver checks every puzzle, and an unchecked puzzle never reaches a PDF.
- A book made before an update exports exactly as it did before, until you change it.
- Books you made keep their puzzles if your Creator Club membership ends.
- The books stay puzzle books, not KDP low-content books, so you keep the free ISBN, Expanded Distribution, Look Inside and series.
What is not planned, and why? #
We do not plan journals, planners, coloring books, hard logic puzzles, eBooks, or IDML and layered PDF exports. The app stays focused on large-print puzzle books that a solver can check and that KDP does not treat as low-content.
Why each one is left out #
- Journals, planners, logbooks and notebooks: KDP treats them as low-content, with no free ISBN and no series. Since 2026-09-21 KDP also allows only two new titles per format per week, so each title slot is better spent on a puzzle book.
- Coloring and spot-the-difference books: they need original artwork, which a solver cannot check.
- Kakuro, nonograms and logic grids: they are too hard for the relaxed large-print reader this app is made for.
- eBooks: large-print puzzles are made to be written on.
- InDesign IDML files and layered PDFs: the file bundle gives you separate PDF, SVG and PNG files with Data Merge manifests instead, which every tool listed above can open.
How do I ask for a feature? #
Email support@aviobrand.com with the feature you want and the book you would make with it. Requests from people who publish books help us decide the order of this list. We aim to reply within 12 hours.
